Haji Muhammad Bashir
To date, Muhammad Bashir remains the only wrestler in Pakistan's history to have won an Olympics medal.
He won a bronze medal in 1960 Rome Olympics and contributed to Pakistan's best ever Olympics performance in which the country took 2 medals, the other one being in hockey. Despite having very limited resources in early year of Pakistan, Muhammad Bashir continued to perform well and took gold medals in Asian as well as in Commonwealth games.
He is one of the finest wrestlers produced by our country and was also awarded 'Pride of Performance' by Government of Pakistan.
It is quite unfortunate that there exists not much record on his life and achievements and today's generation has forgotten heroes like Muhammad Bashir.
