Born to a simple family, she achieved unique titles and fame and fortune through her God given talent in singing and acting. Noor Jehan is considered by many to be one of the legends of Pakistani music. Her voice is praised by music maestro from Pakistan, India and many other countries. Her voice became melody for more films than any other playback singer except Ahmad Rushdie.
Popularly known as 'Malka-e-Tarranum' (Queen of Melody), Noor Jehan was also one of leading ladies of Pakistani cinema in many box office hits.

During the 1965 Indo-Pak war, she would record war songs which became inspirations for soldiers and civilians alike.
